A Catholic group is offering fresh food, in three locations on Tuesday.

The Roseburg St. Vincent de Paul Society will be distributing boxes from the parking lot of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church at the corner of Stewart Parkway and West Harvard, starting at 7:30 a.m. Those in need can simply open their trunk and the food will be placed inside. Since it is fresh, the food will need to be refrigerated.

The Sutherlin branch of the group will hand out food boxes beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store on West Central. In Myrtle Creek, food boxes will be given out near the covered bridge starting at 7:30 a.m.

The Douglas County St. Vincent de Paul Society is getting the food boxes as part of a grant from the Catholic Church in western Oregon to help those less fortunate. The group also provides emergency assistance for utilities, household and personal items.

Their office is open Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the St. Joseph Catholic Church campus. Call 580-0680 for more information.
