Shoppers kept loading their grocery carts to the brim in the summer months; the same can’t be said of investors and Kroger shares.
Kroger saw total revenue grow by 8.2% in the quarter ended Aug. 15 compared with a year earlier, beating analyst estimates on both top and bottom lines. Excluding fuel, sales grew 14%. Its shares, however, barely budged after results were announced early Friday.
