New London — Connecticut Food Bank Dairy Express will begin weekly stops in New London on Thursday, distributing fresh milk and other dairy products to households struggling with food insecurity.
Dairy Express distributions will be held weekly from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursdays in the Elks Club parking lot at 81 Washington St.
The program is made possible with donated milk products from Borden Dairy, as well as from donations of milk and other dairy products from local supplier Guida’s Dairy. Milk from The Emergency Food Assistance Program, a federal program that provides surplus agricultural and food products to the nation’s food banks, also will be included in future deliveries.
Connecticut Food Bank Dairy Express distributions are listed on a schedule updated weekly and available at ctfoodbank.org/mobilepantry, where the schedule of upcoming Connecticut Food Bank mobile food distributions also can be found.
