The Douglas County St. Vincent de Paul Society will be distributing fresh food on Thursday.
Roseburg President Mike Reese said in Roseburg the group will be in the main parking lot of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at the corner of West Harvard and Stewart Parkway at 7:15 a.m.
In Sutherlin, food boxes will be given out at the organization’s thrift store on East Central starting at 8:00 a.m.
In Myrtle Creek, food will be available just across the bridge by Tommy’s, in the vacant parking lot near the covered bridge at 7:30 a.m.
Reese said the boxes contain fresh food that will need refrigeration. Those in need can simply come to any of the distribution sites, open their trunk, and the food box will be placed inside.
The boxes are part of the Farms to Families federal program through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The food is free with no questions asked.
The Roseburg St. Vincent de Paul office is open Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Reese said St. Vincent de Paul helps people with utilities, and household and personal items. It is located at the campus of St. Joseph’s Church.
