FORT PLAIN — There will be a distribution of foodstuffs, fresh fruits and vegetables, and other items starting at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 119 Reid St., while supplies last, according to a news release.
Those who want to take part in the free distribution should arrive no earlier than 9:30 a.m. as it causes crowding and traffic congestion. Use the parking lot entrance near Beck Street. Adhering to these instructions allows the food to be distributed in a quick and timely fashion.
The drivers should remain in their vehicles; walkers must practice social distancing, and all participants must wear masks.
The Catholic Charities is seeking volunteers to help. Anyone who wants to pack and distribute items should arrive by 8:15 a.m. Masks and gloves will be provided, and food items will be made available to volunteers as needed. To volunteer, send an e-mail to: volunteer@ccrcda.org for more information.
The distribution, made possible by the Catholic Charities Mobile Outreach Vehicle Extension in partnership with Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany, the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, Centro Civico, and St. Mary’s Healthcare of Amsterdam.
