New BCS Italian restaurant focuses on fresh ingredients and local roots - KBTX

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - 1860 Italia is now open in South College Station and it features a wide array of Italian favorites.

The dishes created in the restaurant are composed of fresh ingredients found at local farmer’s markets, according to 1860 Italia.

The menu features pizza, salads, traditional pasta like lasagna bolognese and gnocchi tomato vodka, veal, and high-end choice cuts.

The chef behind the menu is Lousiana native Johnny PochĂ©. PochĂ© comes from a distinguished culinary history with 22 years in the culinary industry. He started his career with Maggiano’s Little Italy in 1998, and there he helped open three other Maggiano’s restaurants in Texas, according to 1860 Italia.

Now he owns 1860 Italia alongside John Harvey Slocum.

1860 Italia is located at 1295 Arrington Road in College Station.

They are open for dinner Monday through Thursday from 5 pm to 9 pm, Friday and Saturday 5 pm and 11 pm, and on Sunday 5 pm to 9 pm. The Italian restaurant also serves brunch on the weekends from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
