TAMPA, FL — Showing some love for the Tampa Bay community this Valentine's Day, Fresh Kitchen is inviting guests to participate in a new mural at its Westshore location, 4616 W. Kennedy Blvd.

From 10:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 14, guests can paint a heart on the mural for a $10 donation to Community Tampa Bay, a local nonprofit focused on ending discrimination and creating positive change in the community through dialogue.

Fresh Kitchen will match all donations dollar for dollar, and all participants will receive a certificate for a free "Six Bowl" meal (two bases, two veggies, two proteins, one sauce), which can be used that day or during a future visit.

When complete, the heart-filled mural will serve as a larger-than-life reminder that "love is the answer" to building a better, more inclusive and unified community. The mural will be adorned on the back (south) side of FK Westshore, where the main parking area is located.

All skill levels are welcome to contribute. Tampa artist Bianca Burrows will create the direction of the mural, and will be on site helping participants paint the 12- by 24-inch pink hearts.

"Everyone has a story, and we believe that our communities are better places when people with different beliefs, backgrounds and experiences can come together and share who they are in a meaningful way," said Tara O'Neill, FK senior brand and training director. "With so much divisiveness in the world, Community Tampa Bay's mission of encouraging conversation across diverse groups to create change is something we truly value at FK."

Community Tampa Bay works to promote a community free from all discrimination, in which every individual is treated with dignity and respect, no matter their race, ethnicity, nationality, sex, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, ability, faith or age.

The organization carries out its mission by working with schools and universities to cultivate inclusive leaders, foster cross-cultural interaction and empower people with the tools to have honest conversations with others who don't look like them, live like them or love like them.

"When we take the time to listen and understand one another, we start to see that, regardless of our differences, humanness is at everyone's core. We have over 455 team members at FK, which means we have exactly that many different stories, and we could never be who we are today without each and every one of them," O'Neill said.

"Every single person has something special to contribute. One of our core values at FK is love, and we strive to live that value every day by being compassionate with our words and actions," she said. "We felt that inviting our communities and guests to help with this mural while supporting a great cause was the perfect way to put this value into action."

Those who don't want to paint a heart can simply donate when they dine. Fresh Kitchen Westshore will also accept and match donations of all sizes at the register on both Saturday, Feb. 13 and Sunday, Feb. 14.

Fresh Kitchen features build-your-own chef-inspired bowls with made with fresh vegetables, charred meats and chicken, rice, quinoa, noodles and dressings along with pressed juices, teas and juice frescas.
