KALAMAZOO, MI — Have you been looking for some delicious rib tips, catfish, and fried chicken in the Kalamazoo area? Well, look no further than Grub N Stuff at the corner of Hotop Avenue and Riverview Drive.
With a dream of feeding the community and creating a special place they could call their own, Ryan Woods and Darius Hegler opened the restaurant.
“It was always a dream of ours,” said Woods. “If we get our chance, you know, we want to provide the community with food.”
Gruff N Stuff’s website says patrons can expect a “warm family-oriented environment” and to be fed “tasty and flavorful, down home inspired soul dishes.”
The restaurant doesn’t only sell soul food. There are a variety of offerings on the menu, including burgers, chicken wraps, house salads, chicken tenders, jumbo shrimp, and fried chicken sandwiches. The owners say they like to keep things fresh and new, so expect something different once in awhile.
Grub N Stuff, 701 Riverview Dr., aims to cater to the Kalamazoo community.
“Once you get a taste of our food, you got to come back. You’re gonna come back, you know, good food sells itself, but we are receiving a lot of support from the community,” said Woods.
He has lived in Kalamazoo for over 15 years, coming from Pontiac, Michigan. Hegler says he was born and raised in Kalamazoo. They say plans are in the works to start a second restaurant with a different menu on Westnege Avenue and Howard Street.
Grub N Stuff is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. - 10 p.m., and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. According to the website, the restaurant can be contacted at grubnstuffkzoo@gmail.com or 269-775-1257.
